Nothing on this site is legal advice about a settlement or a claim. What it does do.

The summary

PipeRenew makes introductions and nothing more. It is not party to any agreement you reach with a contractor, and nothing on it is legal advice about any settlement or a claim that any program remains open to applications.

PipeRenew is a referral service, not a contractor. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. Contractors are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands, and replacing a water distribution system is a permitted alteration nearly everywhere — ask to see the permit. We carry out no work, we sell no materials, we do not set prices, and we never charge homeowners anything — the contractors in our network pay us when we route them a call. Nothing here is legal advice about any claim.

An introduction only

PipeRenew is an introduction service. We connect homeowners with independent contractors. We are not a party to any agreement you reach with a contractor, we do not supervise their work and we do not guarantee it.

What the material about the class action is

A description of a public court record: what the Cox v. Shell Oil Company class notice covered, the dates in it, and the fact that the court-supervised claims program has ended.

It is not legal advice and it is not a statement about any reader. We do not say whether anybody has a claim, against whom, or when any deadline fell or falls. Anybody with a question of that kind should ask a lawyer, and we are not one.

The remainder of the site

General information about supply pipe materials, how they fail and what replacing them involves. It is not an inspection of your plumbing and it is not professional advice about your property. In particular, no page here states how long any material lasts, and that omission is deliberate.

If a page is wrong

If something here is wrong, tell us at [email protected] and we will correct it. We would rather be corrected than consistent.

Photograph the printing on the pipe before you call.It names the material and often the year, and it is the single most useful thing you can have ready. We route to contractors who do this work in your area, picked on the ZIP code you give, and you are never charged. Repiping is just what we write about — any plumbing work at all can be routed.
